The PEG Judge has switched to a more secure password hashing scheme. From now on, your passwords will be hashed securely using bcrypt.

Within the next 30 days, if you log in or change your password, the new password hash will be activated for your account. Please note that we cannot generate the new password hashes without you entering your password on the site, because the old passwords are still hashed (and not stored in cleartext).

In 30 days from now, the old, less secure hashes will be deleted from the database. If you do not log in or change your password within 30 days of this announcement, you will not be able to log in and will need to use the forgotten password feature in order to reset your password.

Better problem tagging infrastructure is on its way, and we need help figuring out which tags would be useful!

Please reply to this post with suggestions.

This is a major change to the PEG Judge's codebase. I have tested to make sure most features on the site are still working, but some may be broken. Please report bugs here.

In addition, you might need to clear your cookies before you can log in again.

A few of the admins and I have been working hard to bring you a new streamlined main page. Don't forget to Ctrl-F5 or Shift-F5 to refresh the CSS! Many of the general comments have been moved to this sticky thread. Feel free to tell us if you have any concerns or run into bugs.

From now on, we are looking forwards to bringing you more frequent updates in site improvements. Stay tuned!

Goodbye USACO Problems

Due to a recent request from Dr. Brian Dean, the other administrators and I have decided to remove our archive of USACO problems. We do this out of courtesy for Dr. Dean and his associates, as well our appreciation for the great enrichment opportunity that USACO brings to high schools everywhere.

If you would like to further practice on USACO problems, please visit the official USACO website and practice the problems there. For one week (until March 18th), the "Farewell USACO" contest will be open in the contest area for you to back up your existing programs. We hope to bring you more exciting problems in the future.

Best wishes!

Mock CCC 2015 is Here!

The 2015 Canadian Computing Competition is around the corner. User FatalEagle and I have prepared another mock CCC for you to test your might.

  • When: The contest window will be between Friday, Feb 13 at noon (EST) and Monday, Feb 16 at midnight (EST). Any time during this period, you may enter the contest and your personalized timer will count down from 3 hours.
  • Where: Right here on the PEG Judge! Head over to the contests section of the site and click "Enter" when the time period begins.
  • Format: 5 problems for junior and 5 problems for senior, just like the real CCC. Each problem will be worth 15 points, and each contest is out of 5*15 = 75 points. There will be full-feedback for your submissions, and submissions times are irrelevant.

The exact same contests are also being held on the Don Mills Online Judge (dmoj.ca). This is merely an opportunity to practice and improve, so use these system at your own discretion. Analyses will be provided after the contest period. Good luck!
