Some concern has been raised over the current point system. Now, to me, it seems that most people are fine with it, and I don't see anything wrong with it; Jacob concurs. But whatever, I'll give you a chance to voice your opinions here.

RULES
1. Don't forget to announce your identity first, if you are not a forum regular.
2. If you make a suggestion, make it clear and precise so we can vote on it afterward and it can be immediately implemented if it passes. I don't want this to drag on.
3. Do not post replies merely concurring with others' opinions; just vote for them when the time comes. Feel free to concur however if you have additional arguments in support.
4. Do not post replies rejecting others' opinions unless you have an alternative suggestion.
5. Discussion will close on March 1st, after which voting will begin immediately. Voting will be conducted on a thread on the main Judge, to prevent fraud.

The point system has not been changed, as no suggestions were made.

Right now, the DWITE problems are worth 100 points each, a tad bit more than they should be :P

I'll fix it shortly; I've been overloaded with assignments, midterms, and interviews lately.

Wouldn't it be easier if forum accounts were linked to Judge accounts?
Especially since the non-"forum regulars" will all have to sign up for the forum...
I know I mentioned this in my previous post, but this 'group debate' is what I meant by increasing activity.

I might think about implementing that if I knew how. I haven't seen any website so far in which phpBB accounts have been integrated with the main functionality. The trouble, of course, is that I wrote none of the phpBB code myself, so I have no idea how it works.

In this particular case, of course, if people don't care enough about this issue to subject themselves to the minor inconvenience of creating forum accounts, then I shouldn't have to care enough to change the system, which requires writing boring code.

I've seen a few that have integrated phpBB with the main forum - I can't link you any though, since I've forgotten.

It really only requires a link in MySQL, then a modification to the login script (on the judge) that notifies phpBB that you're logged in - in fact, the phpBB forum has a topic regarding it.
