Mock CCC Analyses

Now that the contest is over, it's a great opportunity to learn how to solve these types of problems - they represent the various things that can quite possible come up on the CCC.
The analyses and test data can be found here: here

This search feature doesn't work right now --- specifically, it hides problems from old contests that you solved during the contest, even though it doesn't show that you've solved them here.

MOCK CCC CONTEST!!!

by SourSpinach on Feb 16, 2011 - 4:41:39 am UTC

We will be running a mock CCC contest from the morning of Friday, Feb. 18th, to the night of Monday, Feb. 21st.
All of the problems are original, and were written to give a reasonable approximation of the difficulty of a Stage 1 Senior problem set.

Expect downtime

There will be some downtime on Wednesday and/or Thursday as Jacob and I test the new contest system. You will see "403 Forbidden: You don't have permission to access ... on this server", or a similar message. Do not panic and flood Joyce with email when this happens.

Old contests broken

Due to some reconfigurations in the contest system, the scoreboards of old contests will change, and I cannot re-rate everybody because I am missing code for some contests (e.g., the 2010 CCC). Just be aware that you will keep your old ratings even though they will not correspond to the current ranklists.

Contest system improvement, part one

Last year some users complained that comments from contest problems were displayed in the main news, which was annoying because of the error message received upon clicking on it.

To address this concern: comments from problems in contests will now only appear in the news when you are currently in that contest, unless you are an admin, the contest setter for that contest, or the problem setter for that problem.

EDIT: Done, after 2 hours of grinding out very ugly SQL

I've made some minor changes to the style sheets. If you notice anything weird, like overlapping elements, let me know.
