File uploads
Is there a reason that File Uploads have been disabled? Some pages may be more effective with visual aids (DFS, for example). Jargon (n.): Special language of a particular group. 22:03, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- It's disabled by default because having it enabled without taking the right precautions leads to security flaws. I have enabled it. Currently it is possible to upload files with the extensions .png, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .xls, .pdf, .ppt, .tiff, .bmp, .ps, .in, .out, .txt, .pas, .c, .cpp, and .tex. Accounts Required
Wouldn't it be much easier to just ban all IPs from editing? i.e. set all pages to protected (or at least this one) with editing limited to Autoconfirmed users? --Jargon (n.): T/C 23:21, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
